Nicholas Meregali To Face Matheus Diniz At UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6
Another exciting match has been added to the main card of UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 on March 2nd, 2024, as Nicholas Meregali and Matheus Diniz will now be facing one another. Both men are among the top competitors in the world in their respective weight classes, and they’ve both reached the podium at both the ADCC and IBJJF World Championship in the past. There is a bit of a weight difference between them though and Diniz will almost certainly be coming in a bit lighter than Meregali, adding an extra layer to the challenge that he’ll be facing.
Both Diniz and Meregali have been competing at the highest level of the sport since they were promoted to black belt respectively in 2015 and 2016. Diniz’s crowning achievement came in 2019 when he won an ADCC world title at under 88kg, while Meregali has multiple IBJJF world titles between 2017 to 2022. They actually competed alongside one another at ADCC 2022, where Diniz returned to defend his title at under 88kg and Meregali was making his debut at under 99kg. In the end Diniz was submitted in the second round by Meregali’s teammate Giancarlo Bodoni, whereas Meregali won a bronze medal in his weight class and a silver medal in the absolute.
The match between Nicholas Meregali and Matheus Diniz is no doubt going to get a lot of attention at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6, but that isn’t the only fantastic booking on the card. The promotion already announced that a pair of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu stars will be competing in both the main and co-main event of the evening, shortly after what will undoubtedly be a series of exciting matches. The main event will see Craig Jones taking on Rafael Lovato Jr, while Nicky Rodriguez and Roberto Jimenez will battle it out in the co-main event just before that.
Matheus Diniz announced the news that he was going to face Nicholas Meregali at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 in a recent post to his official Instagram account.
