Mica Galvão Set To Defend WNO Title Against Tommy Langaker
Mica Galvão is wasting no time in making his next defense of his WNO Welterweight Championship, as he has agreed to face Tommy Langaker for the title at WNO 23, May 10th in Arlington, TX. This will mark Galvão's third defense of the belt, after previously defeating Kody Steele and Kenta Iwamoto.
Tommy Langaker comes into the match on his own hot streak, having just won the middleweight category at the black belt IBJJF World No-Gi Championships and the -77kg at ADCC European Trials. He is currently ranked #7 in the world at 170lbs.
Mica Galvão aims to extend his current 27-match win streak (26 by submission) with a win over the super-aggressive Norwegian contender. Mica won the FloGrappling awards for both submission of the year and match of the year for his dual efforts in the WNO Welterweight Championship bracket at WNO 20: Night of Champions. He is currently ranked as the #1 athlete at 170lbs worldwide and the #2 pound-for-pound.
